This is my attempt at expressing my busy, procrastinating life. Obviously, these things keep me from posting often.

4th Day

I guess it's about time to update my blog, since I have something new to discuss.

Happy 4th Day Everyone!!

There's no way to describe the feeling of this 4th day. Ok, I guess if anybody could find the words, it would be me!!

The first part of the 4th day is about seeing God out in the life that was previously lacking in such awareness of His Grace. I must admit that God gave us a great gift in the weather this weekend, and it's continuing today. Also, I had the fortune to get up at 6 am to go to work at 7 this morning. I walked outside to the first hint of a sunrise, winter's fading hold on the atmosphere was evident. It was a bit chilly, but invigorating.

Work was normal, but today almost unbearable since I had no one with whom I could share the 4th day. I recounted the basics to my boss, but the rest of the work force was unusually difficult to be patient with. A real 4th day challenge, I guess. I had been there for 4 hrs. (as usual for Mondays) and my boss said, "Go home now!" So I left and went to class, the only one for the day.

My evening class was cancelled today, and a friend and I agreed that we had better things to do with catching up on projects, etc.; so we are skipping my afternoon class.

Teacher Moment: "I do not condone skipping school/classes especially not on the 4th day, unless extenuating circumstances apply. In this case, my afternoon class is sooooo useless (HONESTLY)."

In the way of events, my 4th day is not much more spectacular than any other; however, I feel better today than on most of my 4th days. I have to thank our directors and all the team for an amazing effort, but I also want to thank God for putting us all there in the moment. My table was awesome!! I'm proud of both of my New Kids (Tony and Brian) who received the gift of God's presence in different ways this weekend; you were very receptive.

Finally, I must insist on commenting that ALL of the New Kids helped to make this retreat possible and successful; a few of you made C! XLVI a very unique one in my SHORTer history here. Thank you guys for your letters; it helps me to see that I have touched some of you. Specifically, thank you Tony for your outward appreciation of me. I see you in a similar place as me on my first retreat. Chad, you also were very appreciative of all of us; this shows great maturity on you part, and I thank you for showing us that.

Ok now Finally: Todd, you are my cousin; I love you for that fact in itself. Furthermore, every step of the way in my student teaching you were supportive and openly accepted me in front of your friends. As far as I can tell, you look up to me; and you force me to set a good example for you. This weekend has been a very special one for me, with you there. Not only are we cousins somewhat required to love each other, now more than ever we are friends with a special bond in Christ.
